Brace(let) yourself

Accessories make the outfit, that’s a basic principle in life. Small details, big effect. Currently, I’m working hard (yes, it’s called work) on expanding my bracelet collection. By inability to choose I tend to wear them all at once. Some fit together, some don’t, but that’s part of the charm obviously.

Another charming part of bracelets is that you can find them in all price categories.
Feel the need to splurge? Vanessa Tugendhaft is a must-try (http://www.vanessa-tugendhaft.com), she combines a simple thread with the refinement of gold and diamonds. Gems on a wire so to speak. Tested and approved: Babor Summer Eye Shadow

My make up routine is more or less the same every morning: start off with some foundation, fix it with powder, a dash of blush, a hint of mascara and in a crazy mood some lipstick to seal the deal. Less than 2 minutes and I am out the door.

One thing kept on missing in my routine as I hadn’t yet found the perfect product: eye shadow. Too glittery, too dark, too present, too sticky… so many obstacles I simply ignored my eyelids every morning.

Saturday's Catch: Vogue NL

On a gorgeous, sun-kissed day like today there’s absolutely no need to go out into the city shopping . Even spending time online shopping could be considered a crime (unless it’s wifi on a terrace, happening as we speak). All you need to do is relax and enjoy the sun, it's a national code when the first spring sun arrives.

However, you do need to make one little trip...because in stores now: the very first Dutch-Belgian Vogue. No need to introduce this style bible I presume? We now have our very own version. Well, basically it's mainly Dutch but let's conveniently ignore this seemingly irrelevant detail.

To really indulge we’re making fresh ice tea to go with it. Vogue reading needs to happen in style, n'est-ce pas? All you need is Twining’s fresh tea, loads of mint, liquid sugar and some lemon : all poured together, this makes one perfect drink. Oh how life can be perfect.

5.30pm Hairdresser

Today scheduled at 5.30pm: hairdresser’s appointment. First one in 5 months. I’ve been busy.

In my experience, it seems there is always a gap between what I would want my hair to look like and what it really looks like after a hairdresser's visit. This is rather to blame on poor genetics than on the undoubtedly highly qualified hairdresser. But for some reason I always keep hoping for a miracle (like me coming out of the hairdresser with Blake Lively hair). This is no else this time. Below some pictures of how I would like my hair to look tonight. It's what they call idle hope.

Recently I got the Mango Summer Style Guide in my hands (it was pushed into my hands actually, I swear) and I was very tempted to search for the nearest Mango immediately, as I wanted all.of.it.

So this Saturday’s Catch: the entire Mango collection. But allright, if we have to choose, let’s go for the coral dress. Looks great on Kate, will look great on me. I presume.
