Antwerp in vogue / In Vogue magazine that is
The September issue of Vogue features a tremendous fashion shoot inspired by the Flemish masters. The décor: the streets of the old city of Antwerp. To completely spoil us Vogue shares some of Dries Van Noten's favourite addresses.
People from Antwerp are known to be chauvinists, I am not even attempting to deny it, but I am taking this opportunity to applaud Antwerp. It's not every month we are featured in Vogue, right?
So what are Dries Van Noten's favourite addresses? I'll tell you some, but not all, wouldn’t want to be sued by Vogue for plagiary now would we...
So a quick overview:
For eating: Dôme sur mer
For shopping antiques: Kloosterstraat
For art: Museum of fine arts
For praying: Sint Jacobs Church.
I am going to add to that:
For shopping fashion: Nationalestraat (that's where his own shop is, probably to modest to even mention it in Vogue)

Snakes in the jungle of AW 2011

Super Saturday
I must have done something good last week, because Saturday I was rewarded for , let's say, good Karma?
Firstly, I found a chair on my doorstep with the sign 'to take away'. So that's exactly what I did. My neighbours were moving and apparently the chair wasn't moving with them. I decided to adopt it and give it a new home.
Secondly, I scored some last sales at about -80%.
And it gets better:
My darling mom gave me 2 pairs of shoes that were too uncomfortable for her. Uncomfortable? I'll get over it...
And to finish up darling dad threw in his collection of 'How to spend it' magazines. Not that I would need any suggestions, but I guess he felt
a) like he should throw in something as well
b) like he really needed to get rid of his old junk
Either way, I was very pleased with my catches...

Dries Van Noten: Mixing Mastermind
If someone in fashion possesses the talent of mixing, it must be Dries Van Noten. For upcoming season the Belgian designer shows us (again) that combination is an art. An art Dries Van Noten perfectly masters. Daywear is effortlessly combined with eveningwear, pepper & salt colors blend in with shades of green and blue, geometrical prints mix up naturally with snakeskin, woolen vests are completed with fur details...It's all in the mix.

Filles à Papa x Kitsch Club
Last Friday Filles à Papa hosted a party @ Kitsch Club. Funky grooves, cool people and great vibes, that best describes the night.
I was especially charmed by the female DJ who got the party started. She was very rocky, danced wildly and couldn't stop smiling which is contagious.
Oh and I was also very much a fan of the goody bag, I now have a very cool tattoo. My rocking days have officially started. Now all I need is a rocker man and perhaps an addiction or two. I'm thinking chocolate and shopping, less rocky than alcohol and drugs, but hey you've got to start somewhere...

Dig up your old denim jacket
According to style.com the denim jacket is back. And who am I to argue with style.com? This must really be about the easiest piece you can have in your wardrobe as it literally goes with everything.
Very happy now that during my last clean-up I resisted the urge to throw away my old denim jackets.
