Instant Love : Francis and Pi

Recently I discovered the new Belgian accessories label Francis and Pi and it was instant love! Handmade luxury… what’s not to like?
The label was founded by two sisters (Hélène & Marie, aka Francis & Pi) who are ready to conquer the world with their very own creation: the choucka.
Allow me to explain: A choucka is a piece of jewelry that will allow you to tie your scarf in an elegant and fashionable way. As I am a real scarf girl, it seems the choucka is my spring 2011 must-have! The designs are superstylish so to make any outfit a real fashion statement the choucka will do the trick. And well, to top it off, I’d recommend you finish your look with one of their signature bracelets. And, o yes, why not add a bag as well?

Ladylike Etiquette

Now, as ladylike dressing is in fashion. I suggest we also try to act like ladies…
Here are some tips and etiquette rules to live by:

Don’t curse…it’s just that it’s quite vulgar, if you do feel the urge: do it when no one is around.

Always say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’. This is common courtesy, but being polite will certainly help you get what you want in a mannered, elegant way.

Keep your head up, your chest forward and your back straight.

No need to be a drama queen, ever…

When you get an invitation it’s really basic etiquette to answer within a reasonable timeframe.

Arrive on time when you’re meeting with someone (ok: clothing emergencies can sometimes come in between, but try to decide on your outfit in advance and have a plan B outfit, one that already has been tested and approved)

Don’t spend hours telephoning on your mobile when you’re in company, not soo amusing for the company…

There is no such thing as overdressed. I’d rather be too chique than be a slob.

Make sure your nails and hands are nicely manicured and your hair is washed. A note on the hair: the guy who invented dry shampoo should really get a statue!

After a party: thank the host the day after! If it was a crappy party you can forget about this one, it’s also etiquette to be honest, you know…

Ballerina Style

I’m the romantic type, so this spring I am very pleased with the ‘Ballerina Look’ trend. Lovely soft tones, floaty fabrics, chiffon, bodies… it should all be in your closet by now!
Inspired by Black Swan (on my ‘to see’ list!) i’ll be dancing the night away Ballerina style. Just so unfortunate that my dancing skills aren’t ballerina-like…but as a long as the outfit makes sense:i’m ok!

Kate says YES!

Rumor has it Kate Moss and rocker boyfriend Jamie Hince will tie the knot later this year. And, coincidence or not,the wedding date is set on the 2nd of July. That is exactly the date I will marry my (not so rocker, thank god) boyfriend as well. To top it off Prince Albert and Charlene are getting married on the same day too. We are in good company I might say.

Kate will definitely be a fabulous bride.Curious to see if she’ll choose a rocky/boho/classic dress… One thing is sure: white is her color.

Instant Love: Maje’s new summer collection

Love love LOVE the new Maje summer collection. The French elegancy drips off the collection and I can just see myself sipping my ‘café’ and eating a ‘croissant’ with sight on the Eiffel tower wearing , well, the entire collection. And if I don’t make to Paris, any café in Belgium will do just fine as well. The collection combines a sense of ‘je ne sais quoi’ and French nonchalance…just the look I was aiming for this summer.
