Nailed it!

Seems I have a new hobby: painting my nails. This winter there are so many great colors I simply cannot choose. Result: I paint my nails almost every 2 days , my fridge is full of nail polish* instead of food AND nail polish has become my guilty pleasure…I figure: as long as it’s nail polish and not handbags I’m fine buying one every week.A lady needs options, you know...

My favorite and latest buy: Chanel’s 505, matches with about everything.
Another score: Chanel’s Miami peach, only I got it at a ‘I will not say the name but it’s dutch and it’s cheap’ retailer for the knock off version of 2,5euro. Shame on me. And also : a great chocolate shade by Bourjois.

* Apparently, it's recommendable to keep your nail polish in the fridge, I read it somewhere and well, since then, I keep my collection in the fridge.

Fashion risk: design your own shoes

I’m thinking about a huge fashion risk:there’s a website that’s been calling out for my attention for a couple of months now but...I haven’t dared to actually order yet, seems I’m a bit of a risk-avoider.

The concept is as simple as it is tempting:you design your own shoes and ‘Shoes of Prey‘ (http://www.shoesofprey.com/) produces them for you. Luckily you don’t have to hold a master in fashion design , ‘Shoes of Prey’ offers an easy template and your perfect personalized pair of shoes is just clicks and a visa use away.

But going back to the risky part: I see two risk sides on this one:
if it doesn’t work out: it’s a risk because I spilled 200 euro’s on a pair of shoes that doesn’t fit/look nice/suit me.

BUT if it does work out I risk spending my whole wage on shoes…so basically this is the ultimate dilemma…

Anyways in the meantime I had great fun designing some shoes,
Check them out below…as well as some real examples from the site, prices range from 130 euros for ballerina's to 235 euro for ankle boots.

Customized pumps in snake leather and Italian silk

Black and white soft leather combined in a ballerina

Totally in different shades of shine soft leather

Snake leather, all the colors you would like...

Style icon: Aerin Lauder

Aerin Lauder represents the American Dream...She’s not only the heir of the beauty empire granny Estée founded, she’s also a true style icon. Elegant, sophisticated and always completely refined...

But there's more to her...besides being a fashion example she’s also an inspirational career woman, (it goes on...) a proud mom of two, has a husband in banking (though in 2008 this was probably not the American dream), a gorgous house...My point is:she sort of is superwoman! The only slip Aerin Lauder was ever caught upon was to be seen outside an event screaming and swearing into her cellphone at her tardy husband. But hey, even superwoman can fall out of role sometimes...

See below for some Aerin Style tips!

Winter Fashion

This weekend the second edition of Winter Fashion took place and I am a fan! The concept? 2 fashion(able) friends go to some French fairs, fill their trunk with what they like (needless to say: they have good taste), and organise a shop-for-a-day where you can (and believe me you will...) purchase all the goodies.

The statements pieces were without doubt the sleeveless fur cardigan and flowered pants! My catch: a great comfy cardigan and great basic grey scarf.
To be continued for sure...

The organising team

We LOVE: Souvenirs de Pomme

So last post was about basics... now let's talk statement pieces... Looking for a special jewel? Natan teamed up with Gent-based jewel label 'Souvenirs de Pomme'. The result: Great necklaces that combine the elegancy of Natan with the feminine touch of Souvenirs de Pomme. Christmas time is sort of approaching: a great necklace will bring any outfit to the next level (the WOW level, that is...)

Prices range from 219 euro to 264 euro. Available at the Natan store in Brussels
