Before and After: Coatwise...

About a month ago I spotted a TO DIE for coat by Maliparmi...unfortunatly the price was also...TO DIE for...But if not fortunate, one must be creative. So after a long and, I might add, intensive *search I found a copy at Zara and transformed it by sewing on all different kinds of buttons. And the great part is...now I not only have a completely customized coat, I also enjoyed a relaxing afternoon of stitching.

Check out the before and after part!

* Unbelievable: 4 Zara's with all about 8 of these coats...and NONE in the right size...I had to make a reservation for the piece that was on display in the window...talking about determination.

Saturday Night... are you up for a dressing party?

Well, may I suggest some veeeeerry nice dresses? And , just for fun, I added some not so nice dresses...what a relief even celebs can look disastrous!

Yellow, i love it!Make sure you pick the right shade of yellow to make it flattering, you do not want to look like a lemon.

Just a hint, this color works on almost everybody!

AAND now the fun part: the bad ones!

This is new...Leighton looking like she robbed a Disney Store.

2 Hearts Beating Together

It seems Jennifer Lopez and Taylor Swift have something more in common than their singing talent:They share the same shirt! Or how one shirt can fit two different styles...

For the true lovers: the shirt is available at www.wildfoxcouture.com and will set you back 108 dollars... yes love sometimes does hurt...in your wallet.

Finally...A&F in Belgium

Abercrombie & Fitch is coming to Belgium... So you can stop the internet purchases, the trips to London/NY and the facebook group (we want Abercrombie stores in Belgium) because the prayers have been answered.

Next Spring you will be standing in line to enter the Brussels store! Details will surely follow,but... besides the clothes the good news also is that the half naked salesmen will probably be Belgian (and thus within reach, this creates stalking possibilities..)

Fashion Discovery

This weekend I made a fashion discovery… I felt compelled not knowing about this earlier, as a self-proclaimed, fashion lover…I comfort myself with the thought ‘if you can’t buy it in Belgium, it’s not that awful that you don’t know’…right?

So here’s the discovery (made in the Netherlands by the way): Cindy Crawford designs shoes… and what’s even more she does quite a good job..AND on top of that (this was another surprise) the shoes are very affordable! Euh so obviously I bought a pair…and hesitated for another pair but as I also spotted very cute must-have pumps I didn’t go for the second Cindy Crawford pair..( I draw the line at buying two pairs of shoes a day…)

Check out the complete collection and the commercial:http://www.cc5thavenue.com/2010/

And of course some pictures…
(prices range from 29,90 euro for ballerina's to 149,9 euro for boots)

My very own Cindy Crawfords...

Too cute!

Sneak Peek Summer 2011

For those who hadn’t noticed… autumn has begun.

Now, there are 2 options:

1) You can complain about the rain showers, the cold, organize stay-in nights with tea and cookies , rent Twilight and see it 4 times in a row…

OR

2)You can look ahead and make sure, that when summer 2011 finally does arrive, you are ready for it!

I chose the second option… and so far, I like what I see! Here’s a sneak peak at some of Spring Summer Collections 2011. And this is only the beginning…

Dries Van Noten ( this should not come as a surprise) showcased a gorgeous collection containing all of his signature elements: great fabrics, interesting prints, androgyny influences and an ethnical touch: you cannot not love these clothes…
Tip: The boyfriend blazer is here to stay for another season so if you want to invest in just one piece, let that be it.

Isabel Marant says inspiration came from 'surfing and the early days in skateboarding'... euh, I don't see myself skating nor surfing in her outfits, but i'll stroll down the beach in them?

Diane Von Furstenberg shows color combinations you wouldn't think of: but they work!

A relaxed outfit by Paul & Joe...put it on the wishlist...

It Girl: Rachel Bilson

Rachel Bilson is one of those celebs whose style is just admirable. She never makes the mistake of overdressing or overstyling (yesss, an outfit can be sooo perfect, it’s not fun anymore) , but just mixes what she loves AND (this is important!) what looks good on her…

Sometimes, I tear out a picture of her in a magazine and keep it as inspiration for when in fashion-distress.

Below some of her great looks...

Pick your favorite!

Mixing prints that contain the same colours is a good tip for who's a bit afraid of mingling the wrong patterns.

Just a cool skirt, a simple blazer and tank top and some nudes...perfect!

Great color!

This one is my personal favorite...not too dressed up but the sequins and the yellow bag give the edge.

Classy!
